Data licence

Who this is between

The data packs are published by Apexlayer Technologies Private Limited (CIN U58201HR2025PTC135312), WeWork India, DLF Forum, DLF Cyber City Phase III, Sector 24, Gurugram, Haryana 122002, India, as CinemaHalls.in ("we"). The licence goes to the person or organisation named on the order and in the workbook's "Licensed to" line ("you"). Buying a pack means accepting these terms.

What you may do

• Use the files, and anything you make from them, inside your organisation, for as long as you like. Your employees and the contractors working for you may use them for your work.
• Copy, filter, join, map and analyse the data, and load it into your own tools.
• Use it for a client's project and deliver your findings to that client. The client does not get the rows themselves unless they buy their own pack.

Publishing

You may publish findings, charts, maps, totals and averages made from the data, and you may name individual cinemas in them (for example, a list of the ten largest multiplexes in a state), up to 100 rows in any one publication. Anything you publish needs this credit line, or one that says the same: Source: CinemaHalls.in, Cinema halls of [area], [edition] edition.

What you may not do

• Resell, sublicense, rent, share or give away the files, or a substantial part of the rows, to anyone outside your organisation.
• Publish the rows as a dataset, directory, map, app or API, or use them to build a directory or map of cinemas that competes with CinemaHalls.in.
• Remove or change the "Licensed to" line, or present the data as your own collection.
• Say or imply that CinemaHalls.in, BookMyShow, District or any cinema or chain endorses what you do with it.

Third-party data inside the packs

The population figures are computed from WorldPop's 2020 grid (www.worldpop.org, CC BY 4.0), and PIN code boundaries come from India Post through data.gov.in (Government Open Data License, India). Their attribution goes with the data, and the credit line above covers it. Opening years come from Wikidata (CC0). Cinema and chain names are the trademarks of their owners and appear only to identify each cinema. The packs contain no logos, photos, ratings or reviews.

Accuracy

Each pack shows the cinemas listed on BookMyShow or District on the day we read the listings, as each file says. Cinemas open, close and change; screens and seats are floors (screens with shows that day); population figures are modelled estimates. The files are provided as they are, without warranty. To the extent the law allows, our liability for anything arising from a pack is limited to the price you paid for it. If you find an error, tell us at data@cinemahalls.in; we correct the next edition, and the refund policy covers files that do not match their page.

Ending the licence

If you break these terms and do not put it right within 15 days of our writing to you, the licence ends and you must delete the files and copies of the rows. What you published properly before then may stay published.

Law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and courts in Gurugram, Haryana have jurisdiction. Questions, a wider licence, or permission for something not covered here: data@cinemahalls.in.
