Finding a cinema
How do I find a cinema hall near me?
Open "Near me", allow location or type a PIN code, and we rank all 4,264 cinemas by distance with directions and booking links. You can also start from any of 1,494 town pages.
How do I find the nearest PVR, INOX or IMAX?
Use PVR near me, INOX near me or IMAX near me: each ranks only that chain or format by distance from you.
Why does the map not show a cinema I know?
The main map shows cinemas that sell tickets on BookMyShow or District, plus any a local check has confirmed open. A cinema that sells only at the counter may appear on the unverified layer, or not at all. Report it and we will check.
What does "unverified" mean?
Open map data calls the place a cinema, but it does not sell tickets online. Some are open and sell at the counter; many have closed. We show them separately and never in "near me".
Is the distance by road?
No, it is a straight line. The directions link gives the road route.
Tickets and shows
Can I book tickets on CinemaHalls.in?
No. We link each cinema to its own page on BookMyShow or District, where shows, prices and seats are. We are not paid for these links.
Do you show showtimes?
No. Showtimes change daily and live on the booking sites; each cinema page links straight to them.
I have a problem with a booking. Can you help?
We cannot: we are not the booking site or the cinema. Use Help in the app you booked with, or contact the cinema.
Cinemas in India
How many cinema halls are there in India?
4,264 cinemas sell tickets online, in 1,494 towns (checked 23 September 2026). FICCI-EY counted 10,033 screens in 2025. Many single screens sell only at the counter, so the full number of working cinemas is higher.
Which city has the most cinema halls?
Bengaluru (130), then Hyderabad (118) and Chennai (93).
How many IMAX screens are there in India?
43 cinemas were listed with IMAX shows when we checked. See the IMAX page for every one, by city.
How many PVR and INOX cinemas are there?
193 PVR and 164 INOX cinemas sell tickets online. The two brands have been one company, PVR INOX Ltd, since 2023.
What is the difference between a multiplex and a single screen?
A multiplex has three or more screens in one building, often in a mall; a single screen has one large auditorium, usually in its own building.

Where does the information come from?
BookMyShow and District listings, OpenStreetMap, Overture Maps, Wikidata, and local checks by people who know a town. The methodology page explains each.
How current is it?
The platform listings were read on 23 September 2026. Each page shows when its facts were checked.
Why are screen counts marked "or more"?
District shows only the screens that have shows on a given day, so the count is the least a cinema has.
How do I report a closed or wrong cinema?
Use the report form, from any cinema page or the Contact page. A confirmed report outranks every other source.
